Behold The Striped Wall

Ya’ll, I am so completely excited about how this project turned out!  Even though it took me a fortnight to get it started (I honestly have no idea how long that is, but it sounds like it’s probably a while), it is exactly what I envisioned!

Behold the striped wall…

IMG_3499Ack!  I big fat puffy heart love it!  Doesn’t it cozy up the room?  Here’s another look.

IMG_3509I think the stripes play really well with the stenciling in the foyer.  The lighter paint color is actually the same as the base color in the foyer, so it works to tie the open space together a little bit more.

IMG_3503And here’s a wonderfully cozy nighttime picture.  I made Hubby sit on the couch with me and stare at the wall the night I finished it.  He’s such a good sport about these kinds of things.  While he does like the wall, I don’t his feelings run as deeply as mine.  He humors me, what more can I ask for?

IMG_3492You can see the TV on the floor in front of the sliders in that picture.  I moved it to paint and enjoyed having it off the bookcase for a few minutes.  But its back.  Because hockey.  Go Lightning!

IMG_3510In my next post, I will give you the nitty gritty on getting razor sharp paint lines when you have textured walls.  It is possible if you use my little trick.  Until then, one more pretty picture!

Holy moly this looks fantastic!! Well, I must say, your home looks fantastic overall! I love to see what other people are able to accomplish when putting the creative spark to work 😉 I on the other hand, have no creativity LOL!! Maybe I could show this to my hubby and ask him if he could do these stripes :-p

Nice job! My husband and I live in his childhood home. When he lived here with his parents, his bedroom walls were painted in stripes–red, white and blue.
